Getting Your Vehicle Dyno Tuned

Here’s How To Get Your Car Dyno Tuned!

AFM Dyno Facility and Dyno Tuning Hours of Operation

M-F: 10am to 5pm CST

From AFM management effective 11/1/2022:

Due to the limited staff and an extreme back log of performance installations and tuning we can do vehicle drop off dyno tuning appointments only. We are only tuning Mustang and F150 vehicles at this time. Please contact us and allow between 1-2 weeks to schedule dyno appointments (could be longer during spring & summer time). Please be aware we are only accepting vehicles that can be dropped off for tuning appointments. A dyno tuning email and checklist must be completed in order to be dyno tuned at Anderson Ford. These will be emailed to the customer. Baseline dyno pulls are available for all rear wheel drive makes and models.

Thank you for your continued support – AFM

STEP 1. Call Donny today at 217-935-2076. We will email you a step by step process and check list that must be reviewed and filled out. We send this preliminary information to help us determine and make sure your vehicle has the correct equipment to make the horsepower you are looking for. No matter if it’s supercharged, Nitrous injected or naturally aspirated. Dyno tuning requires vehicles to be dropped off at out facility. Lead times can be 1-3 business days, but possible longer depending on vehicle. We cannot guarantee a turn around time as there could be multiple variables that change the completion turn around.

STEP 2. Bring your vehicle to our Dyno location here in Clinton, IL on your scheduled date. We will again review with you what your goals are if present. We do offer a customer key drop box for vehicles dropped off after hours.

STEP 3. Our tuners will then use ‘state of the art’ engine test equipment and automotive tuning software to thoroughly test & tune your vehicle for optimum and safe performance. Depending on the vehicle we may use a trusted 3rd party tuning source for live remote tuning. The vehicle will be tuned for cold start, warm start, idle, tip in, cruise and wide open throttle. Some of these processes can take a long time to dial in depending the vehicle configuration.

STEP 4. When our tuners are finished dyno tuning your vehicle, our staff will contact you to pick up the vehicle. Upon arrival we will show you your vehicle’s peak power & torque and recommend your best shift point. We will also provide you with a Dyno graph printout from the best dyno pull with the vehicle’s tune and specifications. We use SAE corrected horsepower and torque numbers on our Dynojet.

Our mission and goals are to be as thurough as possible and make sure we have a properly tuned Mustang or F-150 to return to the customer. Rushing has never worked for anybody, especially when it comes to performance vehicles. Years of experience has tought us to trust the whole process, never assume and not to cut corners. Can other shops get your car done same day or faster? Sure, however instead of being fast we insist on being right. This in the end saves time and money for all parties. So, we ask you….before you take your ‘Pride and Joy’ to just any dyno shop….to check out our experience first! We feel you will find that our years of knowledge on tuning Mustangs and F150’s will be hard to surpass.

Emissions Statement:

We DO NOT disable the O2 sensors or delete the CEL for catalytic converter modifications or EGR deletes. The Clean Air Act and other emissions regulations restrict tuning companies from disabling emission control systems in any vehicle with a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). These CEL’s will not have any effects on the performance of the vehicle, but can prevent you from passing emissions testing regardless of what is done in the file. Performance tuning may or may not allow the vehicle to pass emissions testing. AFM is not liable if emissions testing cannot pass on a customer vehicle and is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to follow local laws and regulations in there area.
